The Caligri Airtube Switch XL Essential Kits are the perfect entry into large, ultra-soft softtubes – fully functional from day one and expandable with exactly the accessories you need. Start with the new Essential Kit including Magic Cloth® diffusion for the smoothest, cinematic soft light and add optional accessories like additional diffusions, skirts, spill light covers or eggcrates whenever you want.
With an enlarged diameter of approx. 29–30 cm, the Airtube Switch XL provides a much bigger illuminated surface than standard airtubes. This makes it ideal for high-end cinematic lighting, wide reflections on products and glossy surfaces, or as a soft key and area light on set.
Interchangeable diffusions (including Magic Cloth®, Lite Grid Cloth, Quarter Grid Cloth and custom fabrics) allow you to fine‑tune the character of your light for every shooting situation – from super soft and creamy to more controlled and directional. Thanks to its 2‑in‑1 functionality (available on Airtube SWITCH XL 100 and 120/4ft with the additional Harness), you can use the Airtube both in front of LED tubes and as a large-volume softtube in front of LED COB spots with small Fresnel optics, such as the Aputure Fresnel 2X.
Mounted in front of one or multiple LED tubes and inflated in seconds, the Airtube Switch XL creates a beautifully even, homogenous soft light with smooth, gentle falloff into the shadows. All features of your LED tubes remain fully available, such as battery operation, color control, effects and pixel mapping. Multiple shorter tubes can be combined inside a long Airtube Switch XL to create extremely long, uninterrupted reflections – perfect for product films and stills.
Built from proven, high-end motion picture materials such as Magic Cloth® by TRP Worldwide and fully manufactured in Germany, the Caligri Airtube Switch XL Essential Kits are designed to withstand the demands of modern film and photo productions. Available in multiple lengths (50, 60/2ft, 100, 120/4ft, 200, 240/8ft XL) and compatible with popular LED tubes like Astera Helios, Titan, Hyperion or Quasar Double Rainbow.
