The SUN-SWATTER BIG KIT Diffuser by Sunbounce is the floating shadow solution for professional photo and film productions. Its 3D frame creates a soft, moving shade that follows your actors and models, delivering perfectly controlled light for people, fashion and product shoots.
Easily recognized by its giant fly-swatter shape, the contrast-reducing diffusion screen is held by a sturdy, U-shaped aluminum frame attached to a height-adjustable BOOM-STICK. This design provides ample distance to your subject and maximum freedom of movement on set.
On location, the system can be operated by just one assistant; in static setups, a single light stand is sufficient.
The smart frame construction is an advanced version of the proven SUNBOUNCE CLASSIC 3D frame. Viewed from above, the U-shape ensures that at least one side of the frame does not cast a pipe shadow into your image. The handcrafted, anodized aluminum frame folds down within seconds and fits into a bag with a diameter of only about 6–8 cm, with a maximum rod length of 135 cm. Integrated crossbars and tension rods offer multiple grip and mounting options – handheld or on a stand.
The included 2/3 Stop Silk screen (TRANSLUCENT -2/3 f:Stop) reduces light intensity more strongly than a 1/3-stop diffusion and creates beautifully soft, flattering light. Use it as you see it, or as a healthy base light and add additional fixtures to shape highlights and shadows. This neutral white, extremely robust material is highly universal – it covers more than 85% of typical lighting needs on set.
