Scope

This privacy policy informs users about the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

The legal framework for data protection is provided by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of General Information

Each time a user accesses this website, information is automatically collected by us or the web hosting provider. These data, also referred to as server log files, are of a general nature and do not allow conclusions to be drawn about the identity of individual users.

The collected data include, among others: the name of the website, file, date, amount of data transferred, web browser and browser version, operating system, the domain name of your internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our website), and the IP address.

Without these data, it would be technically impossible in some cases to deliver and display the website content. Accordingly, the collection of these data is strictly necessary. In addition, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. They help us optimize our offerings and technical infrastructure. We also reserve the right to review log files retroactively in case of suspected illegal use of our website.

Handling of Personal Data

Definition: Personal data are all information by which an individual can be identified. This includes data that can be traced back to a specific person.

Such personal data include first and last name, telephone number, and email address. Additionally, information about hobbies, memberships, preferences, and websites visited is considered personal data.

These data are collected, used, and, if necessary, disclosed by the provider only if explicitly permitted by law or if the user consents to the collection, processing, use, and disclosure of the data.

Registration on Our Website

If you register on our website to access personalized services, personal data will be collected. This includes name, address, telephone number, and email address as contact and communication data.

Registration enables access to services and content that are only available to registered users. Registered users can change or delete the data provided during registration at any time. Upon request, we will inform you which personal data have been collected and stored. Moreover, we will correct or delete the data upon request, provided no statutory retention obligations prevent it. For inquiries or requests for correction or deletion of data, please use the contact details provided in this privacy policy.

Provision of Paid Services

To provide paid services, we require additional data, for example, payment information.

To ensure the security of your data during transmission, we use encryption methods (e.g., SSL) via HTTPS that reflect the current state of technology.

Comment Function

If comments or other contributions are made and published on our website, we store the IP address, username, and the time of creation. These data are collected for security reasons, as the provider may be liable for unlawful content (e.g., prohibited propaganda, insults) even if created by a third party. In such cases, this information serves to identify the author.

Newsletter

Our free newsletter informs you regularly by email about new products and special promotions. The data you provide is used solely to personalize the newsletter and will not be shared with third parties. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Your data will be deleted within one week after the newsletter subscription ends, unless statutory retention obligations prevent deletion. By submitting your data, you consent to data processing and confirm our privacy policy.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, the data you provide is used exclusively for this purpose or to inform you about matters relevant to the service or registration. These data are not shared with third parties.

A valid email address is required to receive the newsletter. Additionally, we store the IP address used to register and the date of registration. These data serve as proof in case of misuse, e.g., if a third party registers an email address without consent. To further prevent misuse, we comply with the “Double Opt-In” procedure. This process logs the newsletter subscription, confirmation email, and receipt of confirmation.

We use Google reCaptcha to determine whether a human or automated program is making entries in our contact or newsletter forms. Google evaluates the following data to make this determination: IP address, visited website and page where Captcha is embedded, date and duration of the visit, browser and operating system type, Google account if logged in, mouse movements on the reCaptcha fields, and image identification tasks. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in this processing to ensure the security of our website and protect it from automated submissions.

You may revoke your consent to the storage and use of your data and email address for newsletter purposes at any time. A link for revocation is included in every newsletter and on the website. You may also contact us via the contact details provided in this document.

Contact Form

When you contact us via the online form or by email, the information you provide is stored to respond to your inquiry and address any follow-up questions.

Incorporation of Third-Party Services and Content

Our website may include content, services, and features from third-party providers, such as Google Maps, YouTube videos, or images from other websites. To display this content in your browser, your IP address must be transmitted to these providers. The providers (hereinafter “third parties”) thus receive your IP address.

Although we strive to use only third-party providers that require the IP address solely to deliver content, we have no influence over whether the IP address is stored. This may occur for statistical purposes. If we are aware that an IP address is being stored, we inform our users accordingly.

Cookies

This website uses so-called cookies—text files stored on your device by the server. They contain information about your browser, IP address, operating system, and internet connection. These data are not shared with third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Cookies serve two main purposes: they facilitate navigation and enable correct display of the website. They are not used to introduce viruses or start programs.

Users can access our website without cookies by changing their browser settings. Please refer to your browser’s help function for instructions. Note, however, that some website functions may be impaired and user experience limited. The websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe) allow you to manage online advertising cookies.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are stored on your computer and allow analysis of website usage. Information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. With IP anonymization enabled, your IP address is truncated within the EU or other European Economic Area member states before transmission. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

On behalf of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide related services to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookie storage via your browser settings; however, this may limit full functionality of the website.

You may also prevent data collected by cookies about your website use (including IP address) from being processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at: Browser Add-On to Disable Google Analytics.

Further information on terms of use and data protection is available at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

Matomo

  1. Scope of Data Processing
We use the open-source software Matomo on our website to analyze user behavior. When individual pages are accessed, the following data are stored:

  • 3 bytes of the IP address of the user’s device

  • The accessed page and the referring website

  • Subpages visited and duration on the website

  • Frequency of page access

The software runs exclusively on our servers. Data are not shared with third parties. IP addresses are anonymized by masking the last byte (e.g., 192.168.100.xxx), preventing identification of the device.

  1. Legal Basis
The legal basis for processing personal data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

  2. Purpose of Data Processing
This processing allows analysis of user behavior, enabling improvement of the website and usability. The anonymization of IP addresses sufficiently protects users’ privacy.

  3. Objection and Removal
Users can opt out via a link provided on the website, setting a cookie that prevents data storage. If deleted, the opt-out cookie must be set again. Further details are available at https://matomo.org/docs/privacy/

Google AdWords

This website uses Google AdWords and conversion tracking. Google AdWords sets a cookie on your device if you access the site via an ad. Cookies expire after 30 days and do not personally identify users. If the cookie is active and you visit certain pages, Google and we can track that you clicked the ad. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie.

Conversion cookies collect data to compile statistics on AdWords conversions. Users are not personally identifiable. You can disable the tracking via your browser settings. More information is available at http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

Data Minimization

Personal data are stored only as long as necessary or required by law. Once the purpose is fulfilled or retention expires, data are blocked or deleted.

Your Rights

You have the right to request free information on your stored personal data, as well as correction, blocking, or deletion, except where required for business purposes or legal retention. Please contact our Data Protection Officer at datenschutz@lightequip.de.

To ensure data blocking can be considered, data may be retained in a separate file for verification. Where no statutory retention exists, deletion is possible; otherwise, data are blocked upon request.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to comply with current legal requirements or to reflect new or updated services. The new policy applies at your next visit.
