The Caligri Airtube Switch is the next evolution of the proven Airtube classic and unlocks a new level of soft, controllable light on set. Its standout feature: you can swap the diffusion fabric at any time â from the well-known Magic Cloth® of the Airtube classic to TRP Lite Grid Cloth, Quarter Grid Cloth, or even custom-made diffusions. This lets you fineâtune the look and softness of your light for every shooting scenario.
With the new 2-in-1 feature, the Airtube Switch becomes a true all-rounder: Use it either with LED tube lights or as a softtube in front of an LED COB spotlight. Simply remove the side cap of the inflated Airtube Switch and attach it to a small Fresnel optic of your LED spotlight â e.g. the Aputure Fresnel 2X â using the Airtube Switch harness strap. This creates a larger, softer source with more aperture, ideal for cinematic lighting setups. (2-in-1 softtube feature available only for Airtube SWITCH 100 and 120/4ft in combination with the additional harness accessory.)
The Airtube Switch increases the effective light aperture of your LED tube fixtures. Once mounted in front of one or multiple tubes, just inflate the Airtube and you get a beautifully even, soft output. You still benefit from all features of your LED tubes, such as battery operation, wide color control, effects and pixel mapping. By combining several short tubes in one long Airtube, you can create extremely long, seamless reflections for product shoots and photography.
Additional mounting options for accessories like skirts, spill light covers and eggcrates give you full control over spill and beam shape. Every Airtube includes skirts and spill light cover free of charge. Both are made from black, opaque fabric that absorbs about 99â¯% of the light. The two-part skirts allow you to flag off either one side or both sides of the Airtube and fully wrap around it using hook-and-loop fasteners. The two-part spill light cover can be attached flexibly, keeps menus and connectors accessible and is secured to the Airtubeâs fleece band with hook-and-loop as well.
For maximum reliability, Caligri relies on established motion picture fabrics such as Magic Cloth® and Ultrabounce® by TRP worldwide. All Airtubes are manufactured in Germany (âMade in Germanyâ) and designed for demanding professional use.
