Founded by engineer Rémi Pillot, who initially pursued a career in major automotive corporations working on electric and hybrid vehicles as well as in the aerospace industry on helicopter prototypes, Pess Energy emerged with the vision of sustainable mobility. In 2008, Pillot launched his first startup company focused on electric retrofitting, aiming to convert classic (collector) vehicles into electric vehicles using repurposed batteries.

Pess Energy provided a significant proof of the potential for mobile, clean, and photovoltaic energy with a 100% electric van demonstrator (a 1987 VW T3) equipped with a solar trailer. In a five-week, 5,000 km tour through France, the company impressively demonstrated the feasibility of complete energy autonomy and the use of solar energy for long distances.

This experience, along with the knowledge gained in the use of Li-Ion batteries and solar panels, led to the industrialization of this clean solution for mobile energy production and storage. Pess Energy now offers an environmentally friendly alternative to thermal generators, which has quickly found resonance, especially within the film production sector.
